Youth Program

Each one, teach one. This African American proverb is a timeless reminder that our duty to educate does not just extend to each other as peers but, most importantly, to the generations that follow. Our inaugural program focuses on our African Diasporan youth ages eight to fourteen, or students in grades 3-8.

We meet on Saturdays from 3 pm to 5 pm at the South Dallas Cultural Center Library located at

3400 S Fitzhugh Ave, Dallas, TX 75210

 

Financial Literacy & Entrepreneurship

Topics include:

  • Principles of success, accomplishment, and personal discipline

  • Money, saving, and investing

  • Seeing business opportunities and starting a business

  • Developing a community-first investment mindset

Positive Personal & Cultural Identity Building

Topics include:

  • Growth mindset -adapting, developing and growing over time

  • Developing helpful qualities and virtuous traits through an others orientation

  • Developing healthy personal, familial, and community relationshipsCommunal belief and solidarity

African Diasporan Heritage & Values

Topics include:

  • Cooperation and cooperative economics

  • Community involvement and connecting through issues that impact African Americans, here in the United States, and the broader Diaspora

  • Celebrating Diasporan ideas, principles, practices and values

Grow Your Diasporan Network of Like-Minded Families

Diaspora Success Academy offers a unique platform to connect with like-minded individuals committed to cultural enrichment beyond the classroom. Imagine your children thriving through peer association, learning the foundations of success through our comprehensive whole-person coaching, and gaining essential skills through culturally tailored success training. By becoming a part of our community, you'll ensure that your children are set up for a brighter future, rooted in their cultural heritage, and empowered with the tools they need to succeed.

  • Join for approximately 36 weeks of extracurricular enrichment on success topics to keep Diasporan children competitive and competent in an evolving American economy

  • Attend classes weekly as a family for live interaction and whole-family education around the curriculum. Drop off or actively participate, as parents and younger siblings are welcome to listen in or participate as necessary.

  • Become a part of a movement that will transform the outlook for African Diasporans from youth on.
